Fighting Homelessness in the triangle, one click at a time

In an APPLES partnership with Benevolist.org, I helped create a campaign highlighting nonprofits that aim to address homelessness in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill areas.

Welcome to my Portfolio for MEJO 332: Public Relations Writing! This course covered many of the basics of professional communications. This included press releases, feature pitches, media advisories, and other key pieces of writing that make PR shine.

A key component of MEJO 332 is the APPLES service learning partnership, where students get paired with a nonprofit to help them in their media goals. For the past semester, I have had the pleasure of helping Benevolist.org in collaboration with Michael Shorb, Jess Pelaez, and Liza Robertson. We helped develop a media campaign that lasted throughout April that serviced nonprofits located in the Triangle that tackle homelessness. Benevolist.org is a free, easy-to-use website that streamlines the donation process for nonprofits, and makes it easier for individuals to donate to the nonprofit of their choice. Feel free to look through some of the pieces of media that I curated throughout the semester.
